I'm asked about the name of my online gallery.  I chose it because the earth is our ultimate resource.  If we abuse it by polluting the air, water, and soil, we are abusing the spirit of the earth that provides us with the essence of life.

I started painting when I turned 65.  It wasn't a "retirement hobby" but a dream I held for a long time, and an opportunity to make the connection with my attachment to the earth and to the artistic desires I harbored for so long.

My landscapes are meant to display my regard for the earth and the blessings we receive from it.  There is an emotional element I feel in each painting.  If the viewer can find a emotional element in a painting then I feel like I have reached someone with a similar regard, however short lived.

I hope in viewing my paintings people feel compelled to look a little longer than a glance, or to take a second look.  If they find an attachment to a scene and say ‘I like that', then I'm satisfied that I've come close to achieving my goal"
